Anthony Kavanagh

Anthony Kavanagh

For more than 30 years, multi-hyphenate Canadian entertainer Anthony Kavanagh has delivered dynamic performances as a comedian, actor, tv host and singer for french speaking audiences across the globe.
With comparisons to Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, and Donald Glover, Anthony has built a reputation as a true “renaissance man” in the entertainment industry – and with his sights now set on conquering the music world, he’s ready to follow the same path to superstardom.

Anthony has finalized a string of new singles to be released in 2020 that he believes will cement his status as a modern-day triple threat. Cultivating his own brand of classic soul, blues rock and electronica with a pop twist that sounds like the illegitimate son of Imagine Dragons and Lenny Kravitz, This debut single was written by Marc Dupré (Hitmaker and Canadian recording star), the very talented John Nathaniel ( Mixed and produced the track. Has also worked with Switchfoot and One Republic ) and Anthony Kavanagh. “Let You Go” promises to deliver something fresh that will attract an entirely new market of fans. With thunderous strings and bombastic percussion hits, it’s a gritty pop song with balls that wants you to wave a middle finger to your ego.

‘When your ego’s in the driver’s seat, you can easily be taken off track,’ Anthony says. ‘Whether you’re a comedian or a cake decorator, we all deal with ego problems from time to time. Music has always been my way of transcending that – and “Let You Go” is my battle cry!’

For listeners who are hearing Anthony for the first time, the sheer power of this warrior pop anthem is likely to surprise them – and if “Let You Go” is any indication of the rest of the singles Anthony is about to release, his secret singing gifts won’t stay secret for long.

Aside from music, Anthony was chosen for starring roles (played by Dwayne Johnson, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, and Will Smith) in the French versions of hit Disney and Dreamworks animated films like Moana, Mulan, Happy Feet (1 and 2), Madagascar (1, 2, and 3), Aladdin, and The Princess and The Frog. He has been voted one of the top 25 comedians in France from the last 50 years by IFOP, a top 10 comedian for the 15-34 demographic, and has emerged as a popular television host and emcee in Canada and Europe. His most recognized hosting gigs have been at the NRJ Music Awards, Just For Laughs, The Dancing Show (with the Night of the Proms Orchestra), La Fête de la Musique, Nous Avons Les Images, and the Comediha Fest in Québec, attracting millions of viewers and considerable critical acclaim for over 1500 career performances in 15 countries and 6 territories.

Born to Haitian parents on September 26th, 1969 in the suburbs of Montréal, Canada, Anthony was drawn to the entertainment world at an early age, making his stage debut in a high school talent show at the age of 14. At 20 years old, he won the Best New Comic Award at the Juste pour rire festival(French-speaking side of the Just for Laughs Festival), which propelled him onto the scene as an exciting new voice in professional comedy. He parlayed that success into an opening gig for popular touring artists like Julio Iglesias and Natalie Cole, and spent the next two years serving as Celine Dion’s opening act across Canada. In 1993, his growing popularity earned him his first-ever TV show, ”…et Anthony,” which made him the youngest talk show host in Quebec history at age 23.
