With over a million visitors a year, the MBAM is one of the most visited museums in Canada and North America.
The museum has experienced exceptional growth in recent years, with the inauguration of two new pavilions: the Claire and Marc Bourgie Pavilion in 2011, and the Michal and Renata Hornstein Peace Pavilion in 2016. The MBAM complex also boasts a 462-seat concert hall, Salle Bourgie, as well as an auditorium and a cinema.

The MBAM is also one of Canada's leading publishers of art books in English and French for international distribution. Finally, the Museum is home to the Atelier international d'éducation et d'art-thérapie Michel de la Chenelière, the largest educational complex in an art museum in North America, which enables the implementation of innovative projects in education, wellness and art therapy.
