PPS Danse
Open-mindedness, creativity, humanism, sharing and social commitment are the driving force behind the company’s activities.
These values are reflected not only in the production of original choreographic creations, but also in PPS Danse’s involvement in democratizing contemporary dance.
PPS Danse was founded in 1989 by choreographer, performer and director Pierre-Paul Savoie. Since then, the company’s mission has been to focus on the creation and production of choreographic works in the field of dance-theatre. Over the years, the company has also developed cultural activities. Today, it is by developing three major fields of activity: young audiences, general public and cultural action, that PPS Danse holds a strong position in the dance community in Quebec.
In 2020, Pierre-Paul Savoie redefined his status within the company by sharing the artistic direction with David Rancourt, a long-time collaborator and accomplice who now assumes the direction of the company.
The company has offered more than 650 performances, including over twenty works in a dozen countries in North America, Latin America and Europe. Regardless of the creation cycle to which they belong, these pieces are all characterized by their interdisciplinary and their humanity.
