Storyteller Stéphane Guertin was inspired by the village of Kirk’s Ferry, which lies at the bottom of the Gatineau River behind his home since a dam was built in 1926.
In laughter and poetry, he portrays the adventure of a family at the front of the scene during the flood of the village. Between tricks and resourcefulness, the family will have to survive the torrents of life. Taking the storm out of the glass is a spectacle about memory, the one that makes us happy but can also make us jump, where we navigate between laughter and emotion.

As a writer, storyteller, improviser, director and musician, Stéphane Guertin was awarded the ADISQ, Gémeaux, Trilles d'Or, Prix Rideau and was named one of the 10 artistic personalities of the year by Radio-Canada Ottawa-Gatineau in 2022. He is one of the great figures of storytelling in Quebec and French-speaking Canada.
