Kathleen Fortin
After graduating from the National Theatre School in 1997 and having participated in more than fifty productions, Kathleen Fortin has found her place on the Montréal stages.
Among the many projects she has worked in : La mouette (TNM), Une truite pour Ernestine Shuswap (Espace GO), Rêvez, montagnes! (Espace libre), Opium_37 (Quat’sous), YEL (Th. Prospéro), Le Roi se meurt (TNM), Les voisins (Th. Rougemont), Tout ce qui n’est pas sec (Théâtre de Quat’sous), Révolution @ Laval (Espace Go). On the TNM stage, she plays Émile’s mother in Nelligan and embodies the marvellous Maria in La Nuit des Rois.
Kathleen is also an important figure in Quebec musical theatre. She was part of the cast of the acclaimed show Belles-Sœurs which enjoyed resounding success in Paris and throughout Quebec. In 2018, she embodies none other than Germaine, main character of the show, in the revival of the play. She interpreted Miss Peachum in the Opéra de quat’sous (directed by Brigitte Haentjens), Miss Thénardier in Les misérables (directed by Frédéric Dubois) and participated as a singer in Avec le temps, which earned her a nomination at the Masques for “discovery of the year”.
Kathleen landed the role of Betty Bird in Demain matin, Montréal m’attends directed by René-Richard Cyr in 2017 and 2018. The next year, she was part of Chansons pour filles et garçons perdus at the Aujourd'hui Theatre, of the play Le Meilleur des Mondes at the Denise-Pelletier Theatre and on tour with André Gagnon’s Les 4 saisons.
On the big screen, we saw her in Maman est chez le coiffeur, Cruising bar 2, Mars et Avril, L’affaire Dumont, Antigone and Arlette. On the small screen, she notably played in Les Invincibles, Un sur 2, Au secours de Béatrice, Fatale-Station, L’Académie, Olivier and Unité 9. Kathleen earned her first Gémeaux Prize nomination in 2018 for her moving performance in Olivier for “best supporting role - drama series”. She is of the cast of the series Épidémie on TVA, Mon fils on Club Illico as well as Doute raisonnable and Après, available on ICI Tou.tv Extra. She also makes appearances in Portrait Robot and Chouchou.
