David Jacques

A native of Saint-Georges de Beauce, Québec, David Jacques holds a doctorate in early music performance (D.
Mus. guitars and lutes) from the Université de Montréal. He first studied classical guitar at Cégep de Sainte-Foy, Université Laval and Conservatoire de musique de Québec. He has collaborated on over 50 recordings on the XXI-21, ATMA, d'Oz and Analekta labels, many of which have been nominated for ADISQ, JUNO, Opus and ECHO Classik awards. His albums Pièces de guitarre de Mr Rémy Médard (2008), Tango Boréal (2012) and Pampa Blues (2014) have won him Opus awards. He has also published several guitar arrangements for Productions d'Oz. Active both at home and abroad, he has performed over 4,000 concerts in more than 40 countries on five continents. He has been a guest with such orchestras as Les Violons du Roy, Orchestre symphonique de Québec, Orchestre Métropolitain, Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, IMusici, Moscow Pocket Symphonie, L'Hermitage de Moscou, Ensemble Caprice and Houston's Mercury Orchestra.
