From 2022 to 2024, Mockler led *À l’image — Takeover* for Dazibao, a cultural mediation project in collaboration with Black community organizations in the Petite-Bourgogne neighborhood of Montreal.
The project aimed to provide a group of young women with a platform to collectively respond to Dazibao’s exhibitions in their own way. As the artist and project leader, Mockler’s role involved setting a framework, guiding discussions, and coordinating participants to complete their projects.
Following *À l’image — Takeover*, Dazibao invited Mockler to reflect on how socially engaged practices shape the development of the artists involved. For *I Won’t Do It Alone*, she created a time-based structure where, every hour from 9 am to 5 pm over five days, she recorded unscripted 2.5-minute “briefings” on camera. These briefings were then shared with past project participants, who were invited to respond with their own videos. The collected narratives delve into personal, artistic, and social themes, exploring issues like precarity, privilege, authenticity, value, ethics, and form.
